02 · Boxes & Humidors
Boxes & humidors.
Small case pieces made the old way — hand-cut dovetails, inlaid stringing, and figured woods chosen for a single build. Meant to be given, kept, and passed on.
Keepsake
Large keepsake box.
Quilted maple lid and case, curly walnut trim, tiger maple interior, and gaboon ebony inlay. Hand-cut dovetails throughout, brass keyed lock, cream tassel.
Humidor · No. 1
Quilted maple humidor.
Quilted maple, gaboon ebony trim, aromatic cedar interior. Finished with a light stain that warms the figure and deepens the contrast against the ebony.
Humidor · No. 2 · Sister piece
Natural quilted maple humidor.
The sister to the stained humidor above — same materials (quilted maple, gaboon ebony, aromatic cedar), same three-compartment cedar interior — but finished natural under lacquer, so the maple reads paler and the figure moves like water under the light.
Wall cabinet
Curly walnut wall cabinet.
Built from a single piece of curly walnut — case, door, and drawer all cut from the same board so the figure flows through. Hand-cut dovetails on the case and the pull-out drawer, with contrasting light and dark inlaid pins that turn the joinery into ornament. Brass butt hinges with finial tips, brass escutcheon.
A box made for one person.
Every keepsake box, humidor, and wall cabinet is built around a specific wood and a specific person. If you have someone in mind, tell me about them — and about the space it'll live in.
